The European Resuscitation Council (ERC) is delighted to announce the appointment of Andrew Lockey as the new Chair-Elect.
He has over 25 years of experience as an advocate for resuscitation science and is a long-standing member of the ERC community. With over thirty years of experience in the field of emergency medicine & resuscitation, Andrew is set to play a pivotal role in the Council's ongoing growth, innovation, and success. He has dedicated much of his career to improving patient outcomes, advancing clinical research, and promoting evidence-based resuscitation guidelines.
Until recently, Andrew Lockey held the prominent position of President of Resuscitation Council UK, where he played a crucial role in advancing resuscitation practices and promoting resuscitation. During the time of his tenure, he fostered strong collaborative relationships with healthcare professionals, researchers, and policymakers across Europe and beyond.
He is a dedicated consultant in Emergency Medicine at Calderdale & Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust, where he plays a vital role in providing high-quality care.
In addition to his clinical work, he contributed to the field as a Visiting Professor in Emergency Medicine at the University of Huddersfield, enriching the academic environment with his expertise. Furthermore, he has positively impacted the healthcare sector through his role as Associate Postgraduate Dean for NHS England, where he has focused on advancing workforce development, training, and education initiatives.
