ERC invites Members of the European Parliament and staffers to receive a CPR training to promote the harmonisation of CPR policy across Europe.
MEP Nicolás González-Casares and MEP István Ujhelyi are hosting the EU Resuscitate Workshop: CPR Harmony for a Healthier Europe, on 20 February, from 10:00-16:00 at the European Parliament.
On the agenda:
The importance of CPR Harmonisation
On average there are nearly 250 000 cases of sudden cardiac arrest in the EU per year, yet the survival rate of out of hospital cardiac arrest cases is only 8% in Europe. By harmonising CPR policies across Member States, we can improve the prevalence of bystander CPR and increase survival rates in Europe.
Event’s activities
MEPs will receive a brief and personalised CPR training led by the Belgian Resuscitation Council and learn about the benefits of CPR harmonisation across Europe. The MEPs will be invited to record a video in support of CPR policy harmonisation and share it on social media to raise awareness on this life-saving skill amongst their constituents and the broader network.
